Within a coached triathlon training program you can expect:
Pricing … There is an initial $60 assessment fee and an initial minimum 3-month commitment.
Monthly charge varies depending on the complexity of the program required, but range between $150 and $250 per month.
ATA membership ….
All athletes are required to have a current Alberta Triathlon Association membership. This is for insurance purposes, but also allows you to race in any ATA sanctioned race in the province (www.triathlonab.ca).

- Take into consideration your schedule of work, home, travel, etc.
- Are fine-tuned such that any other training program that you are currently taking is integrated into your overall program, ie: a run program.
- Help you train smart. Many athletes simply put in the distance without much thought about the purpose of the workout or the overall training plan.
- Utilizes the concepts of stress and adaptation. Programs will be designed with gradually increasing workload such that you experience a training effect, combined with sufficient rest to allow for adaptation.
- Incorporate safety and injury prevention. As with any sport, there is a risk in training and racing triathlon. Safety will be of utmost importance in all programming.
Within a coached triathlon training program you can expect:
- One hour consultation to establish training and racing goals and discuss training schedule
- Personalized monthly training schedule posted on Workoutlog, a web based software program. This program allows you to move workouts from one day to another, log your results, and graph your training volume.
- Workouts in all three disciplines will include time, intensity, drills, etc. and will always have a specific purpose.
- Monthly one-on-one meeting or phone conversation to review and re-evaluate goals and training progress
- Training program designed within a seasonal plan which includes a 3 or 4 week periodization; 2 or 3 build weeks followed by a recovery week
- Unlimited email and phone consultation
- Training program will also include some benchmarking in all three disciplines in order to evaluate fitness and performance gains
- race strategy and nutrition planning is provided for all your competitions
- Referral service to other related professionals in the fields of physiotherapy, strength training, physiological testing, etc.
